Prepare for a Bed Bug Exterminator Visit

Do enough to make the visit useful, but do not clean away evidence or spread loose belongings before receiving method-specific instructions.

For an inspection

Leave the sleeping area substantially as found. Photograph signs, secure a specimen and list sightings by room and date.

Provide access to bed edges and nearby furniture without dismantling everything.

For treatment

Use the provider’s written list. Bag textiles before movement and separate processed from untreated items.

Identify heat-sensitive items, medicines, aerosols, pets, aquariums and any health or accessibility consideration.

Confirm the practical details

Know when everyone must leave, who locks up, the safe re-entry time, ventilation instructions, what can be cleaned and when the follow-up occurs.

Keep the instructions and contact route available after the visit.

Sources and further checks
